Beckham's in!!! I think that's good. Even if it's just for these 2 games I'd like to see him say goodbye at Wembley against Brazil.

I think its bad, a backwards step, we didn't do anything with him in the team so there is no reason to think we'll be anything great with him in, just another case of weak management bowing to pressure. John Terry should be allowed a clean canvas as captain, a new era etc, not be overshadowed by some overrated, overpaid has been.

Do England have a better right midfirlder at the moment though? Lennon has been disappointing, Bentley is an option but is untried and has only had one good season so far. The squad is picked on form and Beckham is in a rich vein of form at the moment. I don't think it'll impact on Terry's captaincy. He's still captain. Don't see how having the best players available stops him having a clean canvas.... it's not as if he picks the team or the tactics, he is just a very good leader on the pitch who inspires those around him

Basically yet again the england management has shown how spineless they are, Ginger Mac dropped him in the first place to make a statement, "look at me I'm the new England manager, I'll do things my way etc".
After a few dodgy results which have proved how talentless he is, he deflects the pressure by naming Beckham in the squad, the other candidates on the right wing are never going to get their chance this way.
Beckham isn't england class anymore, he's going to the US of PAY to wind down and earn a big fat pay check, if he continues to get picked in that league then I'll give up with the england team

i think rooney s suspended for the estonia match.beckham s playing well at the moment but its a tough one. if he has a good game do you then pick him for the next squad?if he helps us qualify for the euros do you take him next summer? be interesting to see what mclaren does.0

By that argument, Ben foster or David James should have been No 1 for most of the recent games, they have been in far better form than Paul Robinson.

I agree.... I think James should be back in goal and Foster should be in the squad. One player I am definately pleased to see back is Joe Cole. England have missed him on the left.

So what line up should the ginger muppett start with against Brazil? My preference (which I'm sure will be disagreed with) is:
4-4-2. GK: Green, RB: P Neville, LB: Bridge, CB's: Terry & Ferdinand, RW: Beckham, LW: Cole, CMs: Carrick & Gerrard, CFs: Smith & Owen

Flapper James!
Not a fan of Owen. Unlucky with injuries, but has poor close ball control, often loses it, and falls over a lot. He has a long way to go.

The only hope for the next world cup is to have a crap euro,then ginge will get the sack(hopefully).We wont get anywhere until things change from the top,so dont hold your breath.

Hmmm, I see where you are coming from, but the fact is would the FA just choose another 'yes man' instead of someone with talent that can actually get a team playing with some decent tactics.

But what is a "part time" fan? Someone that has a family and a full time job that requires them to work when the majority of matches are played?
