œ300 Tyax elite?

Ok, just for quick confirmation really. Gotta buy a bike for a mate tomorrow, he don't know aht he's gonna use it for yet. He's got œ300 to spend. I figured the Mongoose Tyax elite œ280. Is there anything much better for the money?

    Pretty much no!!! My bro has just got one, really is an excellent bike, better than a fair few at the œ400 bracket

    Is that the œ270.00 one, virtually the same spec wise as the 'Goose' without the dampened fork

    I think it is. I was told that the forks were pretty much the same, The Dawes was meant to be œ20 more, but LBS put it at the same price as the TYAX
