Full Suss for Dalby/Wharncliffe etc?

Went to Wharny on my Mongoose last week and to be honest I absolutely sh*t myself. So, as I have come into a bit of money I'd like to get a Full Suss suitable for Dalby/Wharncliffe etc.

What does everyone reccomend?

Preferably I'd like to buy second hand, but willing to consider most things.

Budget œ1500.

4"-5" travel, XC/AM style....

Nah that a brill bike 3 travel setting full half or locked out. Though if you like it so much you may never ride your other one again. Though a 4" - 5" would be better. It also depends on what riding you think you may be doing?

The second one is way to overkill you can't acctually ride them up hill very well. 203mm rear travel for trail i think not [:D]

i woudl go for something with 100-130mm rear travel and 100-140mm front travel though the ransom is an exception as it has lockout.

I woudl look at soemthing like the gaint trance or reign, spech enduro 06 one, gt idrive 5 to name some.

I've never been to Wharney (although would like to) but if you want to be able to ride up the hills too then the ransom is definately a good choice. The rear shock has a high leverage ratio (about 3:1) so its quite harsh at times, but that means its good for pedalling.

Also think about the Kona Coiler/Coil Air, theyre nice bikes. Cannondale Gemini's are going quite cheap too http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=60536
Or the Giant Reign.

Definately go for the older models as you can get better deals.

At least try a Commencal Meta 5.5.2 on rough terrain before you decide! Fantastic traction on rough climbs and with more travel than the Trance will hander rougher terrain much better.
