Dave, I run a 2.1 Nevegal rear on my XC>120 and it's the same width as a 2.25 Cinder and there's no clearance issues. It really is a good UK trail bike.

Nice looking build - what sort of weight are you looking at?
Oh and a word of warning with the Race Face seat post, check the top cap part of the saddle clamp regularly, they are prone to coming off.

As George states above, I really think this bike was designed to be a great UK TRAIL bike much more than a XC flat back racer. Of course the longer travel already points towards that anyway.
