How do you have yours? Do you change it in the middle of rides depending on the terain?

I've got a Fox RP23 shock and have it on setting three. It's great to switch it on for bob-free climbs and then flick the lever off for the descents!! [:D]

I've got a 3 year old triad and have virtually never used lock out. Pro-pedal is ace for climbing (I only have the one setting) although I sometimes use full travel if it's a bumpy climb, such as the last bit at Innerleithen, where the extra comfort and traction can trump the relative loss of power. I sometimes leave it in PP for descents if they're smoother/bermy/jumpy and the stiffer back end is preferable, otherwise I just chuck it into full travel.

I used to have the septune with 7 pro-pedal setting on it. It was a complete waste of time having that amount of adjustment. I just used to leave it in one position and never change it.

On my new shock there's no way to turn it on or off; but it really doesn't matter as I don't think I could be bothered to stop and switch it even if I could.

Are they that fiddly nowadays? I've just got a basic 3 position switch that's easy to change position whilst riding.

I think mines an RP3 on my Hustler, with just three settings. I usually have it on the plush setting for most things, the stiff setting for fireroad climbs and occasionally, if I can be bothered, the middle setting for trundling along on fireroads. 3 settings is just about right any more just sounds too confusing to me. Have a Fox Triad on my Stumpy, much the same as Hamish as far as use goes.

cool though i don't know what i am going to to do with 15 setting [:o] Me think alot of playing is gonna be at had. Along with the spring tension rebough bottom out and other stuff to fiddle with [:D]

Same as Hamish for me as well (I've got the RP3). My riding mates got the DHX and never changes it as it's too much bother!!!

Trouble I find is if I put pro-pedal on going up then I forget to put it back to fully active until it's too late and I'm flying down hill wondering where my travels gone! Happens time after time, must be my Goldfish spec memory I suppose!

I use the short travel setting on mine most of the time when I'm offroad, but I do climb a fair bit with lockout on. Long travel is saved for routes when I'm sure there's no chance of a climb.

I was actually hammering down Deliverance at Glentress on Tuesday wondering why my leg was aching, until I'd noticed lockout was still on. The blowoff is really effective though, I still felt like I had rear sus but just not as responsive.

I tend not to switch on the fly if I can help it. When I'm on full travel I tend to have the forks dialled out to max travel, and it's not the easiest to dial them down when riding (Fox Talas RL). I'll switch between short and lockout though, but tend not to go long to short and vice versa.

Right but pro pedal doesn't lock it out it changes the damping doesn't it?

My shock has a short and long travel setting, and a lockout lever.

Short travel is 4" progressive, long is 5" linear.
