Dalby Forest has just had their official opening day for the new trails, 55km in all, ~23 miles on the red route [:D] <center>BBC News clip</center> A lot of the footage is from the skills area, the rest appears to be some of the new red route. LOL!

I'm sure I saw a Lunar eclipse whilst there yesterday, well I think it was a lunar eclipse...

Also had a weird technical, whilst filming Belly & Sam, my chain somehow undid itself & got wrapped around the handlebars [?] [:D]

I am trying to convert the masses and would like to get a WMB/SingletrAction forum ride sorted sometime, should be a reet laugh [:D]

I have ridden all but the last mile or two, which were still under construction last time I did the red route.

Lots of singletrack, fast & flowy, slow & techy, bermy & jumpy, Dalby has it all [:D]

Belly's a 'true' local to Dalby he lives about 7.5 miles from there, I live 75 miles from there!

Been riding @ Dalby for almost 4 years, it just gets better & better [:D]

Yeah I spend most of my time in there, building/trashing/repairing the trails as well as acting liek a total loon on a bike.

Guy Kesteven and I were are the official trail launch representing WMB and MBUK, at the same time as finally getting hold of Pace's new full suspension bike for a proper test. It's good to be able to enjoy all the stuff that's been under construction and out of bounds for a while. Of all the UK man made trails I've ridden, I reckon this was one of the most thoroughly planned, the most fun to ride and the most sustainable. We rode about half of the 55k available, as well as some of the old trails that I used to race on up there about 15 years ago. Superb.

Yeah i get up to Dalby pretty much every week and its got it all now. The full red is very physically demanding but rewarding and has a bit of everything. I have ran into a fair few people who have been lost or ended up back at Dixons hollow after mistakingly jumping on the black loop after Dixons so its worth getting a map or asking someone out on the trail if your unsure.
The best bit is a flowing decent towards the end of the red with a few rocks drops, a long flowing berm and some flowing jumps that you can really attack. Alongside this there are also a couple of technical decents in construction but there not ready just yet.
The only thing i am concerned about is that some of the new trail is very compacted which is great now, but when Dalby gets wet (and it gets very wet) i wonder how it will all hold up.
Hoping it does because its a great venue and i am lucky to have it on my doorstep. Give it a try!
