Fitting HT2 cranks... Rather annoyed...

OK,
Ive bought some Saint crank arms/BB/singlering of someone on STW (Ive got them now), theyre a bit scrtached, but cant complain for œ70 posted!

However, Ive already run into a MAJOR problem... I cant find anywhere that can face the BB shell [:(]

I thought my LBS was pretty good, but they dont have the tool. Halfords dont have it. Theres only one other bikeshop near me, and its crap.

Any ideas...?
Im guessing the tool is too expensive to buy for one use.

Isn't it the same tool as does the headtube? They should have one of those...

Nah it cuts away at the shell, doesnt pull the BB in.

Thing is, Im only 16, so rely on mum for lifts, and then we'd have to go back again to pick it up...

Oh well, Ill keep looking...

You are supposed to face the headtube before fitting the headset, the facer was the tool i was refering too, not the press...

Yeah, Ive found a guy who can do it, only half an hours drive away, who can do it for a tenner, and will do it as I wait [:)]

Now just to persuade my mum to take me... Prob wont be for a few weeks cos Ive got exams.

Shouldnt do.
Some people use a fancy tool to pull it in evenly.
Yesterday I used a bit of wood and a hammer (but it was a crappy headset and frame(mates bike)).

Ask for the frame to have the bb and headset faced when you order it. if you are having you parts fitted mention this at the same time and get costs for them to be fitted aswell.

or if you are buying the parts from them they should include fitting.

Dunk make sure when you get the giant that they face the BB as they aren't faced from the factory, well mine wasn't for sure but don't worry about the headset as it its an internal jobby which comes with it so don't worry about facing it or buying a headset.
