Repair Stand
I'm looking for help choosing a repair stand. Ebay seem to have a wide range such as
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BICYCLE-WORK-STAN ... dZViewItem for œ70 and this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DRAPER-HEAVY-DUTY ... dZViewItem
for œ20
I'm not into major maintenance, I just want to do some basic jobs.
Cheers.

For basic jobs, just get a cheap one. A proper heavy duty workshop stand is about 500 quid! But they are used 8 hours a day, and swung on, so you wont need that. Merlin have some good offers too.

XTCRider,
Can I ask if you are still happy with this repair stand. I'm about to order one, and just wanted a nod that it's doing the job.

I offered œ40 on eBay for the following which is very sturdy, you could probably offer slightly less!

Looks very similar to the Planet Montage one suggested by XTCRider! Thanks for the heads-up.

I bought the one from probikekit and have just unpacked it. Took one look at all the bits and decided that after a bottle of wine it should wait until the morning ;-)0

Have another two bottles of wine then attempt it. You'll eake up tomorrow, not remember a thing and have a stand built! I do this when having to tidy the house.

Mine arrived yesterday, and was built in fairly quick time. Not too difficult to be honest, as the top tube and clamp was pre-built. Very happy with it for œ39.99. You?

All built and checked out. Pretty good for the money, just used it today to give the old girl a good wash.0

How do you get on with your skyhook? I've been struggling with a similar set-up of nylon rope and bungee cords, first one then two now four skyhooks trying to get a stable setup to hang my bike between with limited success. Plus I left my garage door open earlier and caught my neighbour glancing in so now she probably thinks I'm into bondage.
So starting to think a stand would be better...aren't they a bit more stable?
