Patriot 06 or 07?

Im looking at getting an Orange Patriot 16" and ive found an 06' frame for œ1029.95 with air shock or I could go for the 07' frame for œ1299.99 with same shock..... anyone know if the 07 is any lighter/better? Also whichever I go for i dont want the standard matt black or pearl white paint! At the moment im torn between the Kawasaki style green, the metallic darker green or the orange paint job.........

yup ive looked at that hes selling a whole bike and I just want the frame only. Ive got nearly all the bits for it already from my old bike y'see.... I want the 16" so ive got plenty standover, going use the the bike for general riding and hucking off stuff, im around 5'9" but only weigh 8.5st so my 2003 bighit is mega overkill for me it just weighs too much (4.7kg just for frame and post) and wallows too much plus the 24" rear wheel rolls badly over stuff...

Ifd it were me i would get the 06 one as it just looks nicer with teh big orange sticker and i know you can have 2 travel position. I don't knwo if the 07 one does but i might do. I this the one you were looking at?

yeah thats the one, unfortunately is were' out of stock..... I tried to get hold of a 16" 2007 patriot in orange from Triton Cycles (who were very helpful) but Orange arent making any more apparantly! They have only got some pre painted white or kawasaki green frames left.... buggers! It would seem they make a whole load of different sizes/colours then just hang em up until needed and when they run out its "oh well you are gonna have to wait until next years lot are built" couldnt someone at the factory build one for me? The frame isnt exactly cheap and I dont want to fork out full whack for a colour I havent chosen.... im pretty disappointed to say the least....... i might phone up Orange myself and see what I can sort out... ie go for the green one if i can get it cheaper...or see if they have the frame in orange and 18".....

Orange website has 2 Patriots in the 'offers' section.

œ1700 16" '06 Patriot EXEL in Orange (Ex-Demo) & at œ1400 a 16" Patriot 66XC in Orange ('05 model)

As you only need the frame, buy one of the 'offer' bikes & sell the spare parts on eBay.

hmmm very good value,@ œ1700 but I have to go all the way to Halifax to check em out apparantly, i only get a 30 day warranty and the bike may of been thrashed....

also anyone know when the 2008 range will surface? cos they seem to of given up on the 2007 patriot in 16".. arg...

2008 will surface next year so about 6 months or so. They give the ex demo bikes a ratign and 3 out of 5 isn't bad.

hello i have just ordered a 2007 in 18" in bright green, I just couldnt wait until august! just gotta find myself a Manitou swinger 3 way 190X50 shock now... i think its ebay time!
