CRC using DHL...

Just realised when I went to track my order that it's been shipped with DHL insted of Royal Mail. Also just found out that DHL have a real good online tracking service:

The problem for me is that if Parcel Force or Royal Mail can't deliver it because we're out, it ends up at the local post-office which is only a mile away. The closest courier's depot is 30 minutes drive.

Not a problem at all for me. My local Royal mail depot is only 15 minutes down the road and my local DHL depot is about a 5 minutes away [:D] Still not been delivered, c'mon mr post man! [xx(] Can't see them coming until tomorrow now, but there's still hope until 5:30...

My DHL is 20 plus miles away (other side of brum).. where as Royal Bail are a 10-15min drive.

My mate Jamesie (who posts on here under the same name) works for DHL. Reckons if he was sending a parcel he would use Royal Mail/Parcel Force. I've heard too many scary stories about what goes on with your parcels in the sorting depot. :-O

I find it strange how they've shipped it with DHL becuase i've just been back onto CRC and but something in the basket, proceeded to checkout and then got the delivery options (which were different from the options I got yesterday) which are all to be delivered by royal mail... Maybe it depends on the price of the goods, i'll have to have a look.

I've never had a simple delivery with DHL - they are awful. They tried to deliver me thing and finding me out don't put one of thier notes through the door! How am i supposed to know they tried to deliver it?!!? I tried the online tracking on numerous occasions and i've found it useless, only slightly less useful than phoning them and being given 5, yes 5, different numbers to ring.

Yeh is DHL don't get the parcel to me they take it back to middleborgh thats 1 hour dirve stupid i hate it [:(]

I agree with you on the delivery note, but their online tracking is better than Royal Mails, who simply tell you it hasn't been delivered yet, obviously that's why i'm trying to see where it is... And I've actually just rang customer services and got through straight away, no messing and no waiting, although the number is encoded into their website and is so hard to find. They told me if it's says "out for delivery" then it will be here today by 5, i'll just have to wait and see.

Ive had goods shipped to Spain twice now from CRC and used DHL twice as the Spanish postal service is farcical, both times the goods have arrived in less than 48 hrs and in perfect condition. I cant fault either CRC or DHL. So far.

Royal Mail's tracking systems may not be that good, I don't know, but how much do you need to use it. If I order from CRC by 15:00 one day, it arrives by 11:00 the next. Tracking is for when something goes wrong which is probably why DHL's system is so advanced!

lol true. Royal mail are better than DHL hands down for delivery, I always get my items the next morning with them and they leave a card to note that they've actually tried to deliver your parcel. Anyway here are my new forks just got to cut them and install the star nut then i'm away [:D]

Yeah it's one hell of a fork, it's made a pleasant change from the Drop Off 4's. They're so smooth and tunable, been down to my LBS to have my Hope Pro II 20mm front hub built around my rim. Been out on it all day, can't get enough [:D] There's a nice 10-12 foot drop with at least a 12 foot gap at Bestwood on the quarry, bit of a cliff and i'm edging towards hitting it [8D]
What you looking for at Sherwood Pines? Loads of single track just roam and you'll find loads and be able to link them pretty well, a good part starts across from the bench where the dual decenders started which can be linked with some tight flowy track att he bottom of the forest. Then att he bottom of the forest there's the training area, a nice little kicker there and a few small drops (maybe 4-5 foot). Then the new jumps further up from the dual decenders (if you sit at the top of the dual decenders, looking down them, then turn around the jumps are in the forest there so get back on the fire road to the left and then take the first entrance on the right). That's about it now, I was down today and walked up to the jumps and then down the NS runs and it seems like they're getting on pretty well with clearing the runs and getting them marked [8D] You've probably already been now, might be helpfull for next time you go though, and maybe more stuff there then [^]

Yeah, went up, was pretty disappointed. I asked the guy in the bike shop where to go thinking there would be a waymarked trail (according to the forestry website there's a black trail). Anyway, he said it's all being re-done and to follow the blue route up to post 5 or 6 and just ride whatever singletrack I could find.

I did find a downhill section with a 4 foot drop but it was pretty short and had a big section of felling which slowed you right down. Other than that, all I found was muddy singletrack. Can't have been in the right area but couldn't find any clues so hey-ho.

There's loads of singletrack everywhere. When I was first looking around I just found seen somewhere that a track lead into the forest and just got on that. That way you'll find all the stuff that isn't so obvious. The black trail that I think you talk about is near the training area and starts where the dual descenders started. Although I think they've took the sign down at the main center for it, but there are a few black posts laying about. I don't think anything on it could be classed as black section though (maybe why they took the sign down). Sherwood pines always gets real muddy when it rains, the standing water doesn't drain very quick either so it's usually like that for a week or two after, that's if it doesn't rain again. On the west side of the forest is where all the NS and 4X runs are gonna be but theres just an open area there now with alot of shrapnel there, but if you go to the top you can get on them and they're ok to ride down but nothing too exciting. Hopefully it'll get better when all the bike park is finished.

Oh well, the first delivery of mine from CRC using DHL has been lost.... strange, but as soon as I saw it was coming via DHL I knew I wasn't gonna recieve it.

DHL are attempting to locate the parcel between Belfast and Dartford, quite frankly I could have cycled that far in the 6 days it has taken not to arrive.

Well I have had 2 parcels from dhl, in the last week, one was next day after ordering it at 5, and the other i ordered on friday at 5 to, and it was stuck in the depo at exeter over the weekend, but then was delivered 9 am tuesday morning, good service.

DHL were fine for me aswell, only it left the depot at 8am and didn't arrive until 5pm, but still next day delivery. [8D]
