How old r u ?

Hi,
I'm fairly new to MTB, thanx to my BF who got me into this wonderful sport. I've been riding for just over a year now and had some fantastic experiences and been to some wonderful places. Wish i'd done it years ago, Classed as a veteran (age 43)I was wondering if there were any other over 40's on the forum.

P.S Managed to go to the Cumbria Bike fest last weekend,were any of you girls there? We didn't do the marathon due to it being a sunday and had to travel back home, (although we did manage to ride part of the course ourselves on the Sat). We saw the start off and thought it was great.

I was at the Bike Fest but didn't take part because I missed a load of training for it due to breaking my collarbone.

I turned 27 yesterday.

Happy Birthday for yesterday, and sorry to hear about the injury.
I spotted a few over 40's at Cumbria which was good to see.
We've just booked to do the 25km Selkirk Marathon in August, going up to Glentress tomorrow for the weekend and going to have a look round Selkirk on the way.

I was at the Bike Fest with a group of girls, we age between 20 and late 40's. I wear a pink helmet so you may have seen me at the start, although it was so busy I couldn't even see all my friends.

I'm 36 with a mental age of about 12![:D]
Look out for me at Glentress this weekend. Doing Black route tommorrow, will probably be back in the thermotights by the look of the weather though. Pink and white Giro, Grey Giant, will probably be trying to keep up with some fast blokes.

Hi,
We're in our 40's too, but it doesn't stop us, but like you wished we'd started younger. Mainly ride in Cumbria and try to get up to 7 Stanes when we can.
Just got back from riding Penmachno and Llandegla in Wales. Both really good trails.

Im 42 next month [:)] ..... Yesterday managed a 3hr early morning ride with the lads and then kitesurfed in some proper strong winds in the afternoon [:D]

It was "AWESOME" [8D]

I didn't think id be able to cope but am having a beer on it now and still Buzzing ! [:p] (i was knackered last nite tho')

keep Rocking and Rolling u r only as old as u feel [:)]

Great to see that more 40's ++ on here, My partner is 46, but we are both going on 12 too!

Glentress was Fantastic, better riding than chamonix, we did the Blue run and Spooky Wood on the Red, I had a smile all the way down it was brilliant. We saw a group of Girls on the Blue, then in the HUB eating cake, maybe it was you.

Anyone who rode at the Cumbria Bike Fest, we were at the front and videod the full start, pity we can't get it on u tube because its too big.

Nah, wouldn't have been. I saw lots of girls out this weekend, many of them looking suspiciously clean and glamorous!! (HOW do they DO IT??? HOW??) I did the black with Dave and Nick looking rather unglamorous in my leg armour and was covered in mud by the end. Went straight home after too. Was ACE though.[:D]
