bmw drivers

why is it that almost exclusively bmw drivers try and race me when im driving?
even if im driving normally???

in 2 weeks ive had run ins with 2 bmw e46 3 series (1 coupe, 1 convertible) which i stayed level with

2 bmw 1series which i dusted piss easy

and today at the lights some guy in an x5 caned it away from the lights and raced me all the way down the bypass untill i got ahead of his round a roundabout

Its the Corsa image, want to prove that their cars are faster than a supposedly tuned car.

Are you sure they were racing? If they were, surely they'd have rinsed you.

im 95% sure the 3 series ones were too seeing as we were doing a speed that you wouldnt normally 'cruise' at

Maybe they were 'progressing at an advanced rate' and you took it to mean they were racing?

Oooh oooh. its my turn to say that this thread is full of Fail?

How can you say your annoyed at them racing you when it takes two people to race?
You stop racing them then they wont be racing you.

Plus don't race on roads esp in a Corsa, you'll soon be either un-insurable or dead.

well, beaten at least.

I'm with the opinion that if they were racing, they would have won. On the straights at laast.
I think the smallest engine in the 1 series is a 1.6, which would beat a 1.4 (is that right?) Corsa. You'd probably win round the roundabout though, as BMW drivers generally suck

my corsa is a 1.6
same speed as my mates chipped 2.0 focus in a straight line

i dont think its that unbelievable seeing as bmws are heavy as fook and 116is are seriously underpowered

and im guesin the convertible bmw would be heavy as hell aswell (was a 320ci) no idea what the coupe was as there was no badges, id guess a 318

im not bothered if nobody beleives me coz to be fair it is all banter and no proof like lol but i was there

nowwt, has an psd induction kit and a cat-back exhaust

my mate has a 1.4 sport too and thts rapid for a 1.4, has eaten my mates 1.6 focus, 1.8 focus and numerous 100bhp version saxo VTRs
one guy in a focus ST once stoped him at the lights to ask him what he was running lol (every man and his dog has a focus lol)

instead of buying a new bike and a xbox 360 might xe my corsa just to win fair and square everytime lol

318's aren't fast, they're repmobiles. I know, I own one! They're about par with a mk 3 golf GTi... Which ain't much.

And if they tried to race a corsa... Are you sure they weren't just driving off? [:D] If they even noticed you in a corsa, then they need to go back to BMW driver school. It makes me sad.

I just let the knobs in the corsas etc. get past. Most likely faster in a straight line anyway. Stuffed in the corners of course.

Conversely I find that when Im driving a fast BMW everyone in an evenly vaguely chavved up car wants a race.

The best ones are the people who over take me in a 30(when im sitting there at 30) and think they've "done him"

Thankfully, the days of people wanting to race me are long gone, but as a driver of a half decent (0-60 6.4s top 146) car out of the box. I can't think for one second why anyone with a straight six would want to "Race" a Corsa. Say what you will about Beemers but above the 2000cc mark (straight six) they PWN.

No offence mate, seriously. I've come out of the other side of tuning and modding cars (1380cc, stage 3 tuned Mini), so I know full well that your modded corsa is your baby, but there is no way on gods green earth that your car could out power much at all.
I know the feeling of setting off and getting the edge on someone from the lights, and I agree that it's great, but they weren't racing you.

The car looks pretty nice for a Corsa btw.
