Where's the quid gone?

Me and 2 mates went to a hotel the other night. All chipped in a tenner for a room.

Paid the œ30, but as we were walking away from reception, the girl behind the counter realised it was a special deal, where it was only œ25 for the room, not œ30.

We all realised that the œ5 can't be split 3ways, so we all agreed to take œ1 and put the other œ2 in the charity box.

Effectively paying only œ9 for the room each.

So that's 3 x œ9 = œ27, add the œ2 that went in the charity box.

Makes it œ29.

Where'd the other quid go?
