Avids

Right who has used avids and not had any problems? The reason i ask is because in the shop where i work we have countless sets of avids back that either leak, have horrid lever feel or just lock on and no matter what we do weather its bleed it or stip it down it doesnt fix it ans we send them back to the importer.
Even though this is the case i always see avids being suggested, is it just a case that it is OE avids as almost all the ones we have had go wrong are on new specializeds?

been using Juicy 7s for 2 years, no problems at all
bled them for first time last week, installed Straitline levers..lovely!
we sell stack loads of Juicy 5s and 7s and have had few back with any problems
perhaps Specialized got a bad batch on a production run of thier bikes?

Had 07 Juicy 5s for 6 months. Been no probs hydraulicly however they go out of allignment fairly often and the rotor rubs, but this is to be expected i guess with using brakes harshly.

I've got Juicy 5's on my 07 rockhopper and constantly get horrendous noises from them, no matter how much I clean them up. Also the 'lever feel' is quite poor, but LBS say this is standard. So do you think I've just gotta put up with the noises? Never had hydros before so haven't got anything to compare the feel to.0

We have hell with avids in our shop. Dislike them intensely. The only nice ones i ever used where the ones on the ransom genius and spark 10's which i rode on a demo day, set up by the scott team mechanic.
I think for out the box ease of use shimano win hands down.

If they are 07 juciys they shouldn't be very loud, as the new G2 rotor is supposed to be quieter. However if its using the old polygon rotor then they do make a warbling, mine does and have read somewhere it is common on the older rotors.
