Squeaky Disc Brakes

Just bought a new Specialised Rockhopper comp which is eaxctly what I needed. However went for a spin on Sataurday and got the most annoying squeaking from the front discs. I tried to bed in the pads by giving them a good workout but the noise has go worse.
What the best way to fix this - it seems like the pad is just touching slightly casuing a squeak on each rotation. Should I just keep bedding in the pads or do I need to adjust the gap?? It sounded like a little girly bike with some noise maker on.
*I have tried searching the forums already but I either got no answer to my question or some strange post abuot squeaky girls?!*
