my bottom braket is clicking is this normal on hollowtech 2 brakets is there probally a small stone in it.if so how do i fix it

If the bike/bb/chain is new then it could just be the chain and chainrings bedding in. Does the clicking get worse if you pedal harder? Does the bb move if you try rocking it across the line of the bike, i.e. holding each crank arm, try moving it perpendicular to the frame, if it moves then the bb bearings are shot.

Undo the pinchbolts, remove the preload bolt.

Grease the splines, replace the preload bolt (not too tight!) , do up the pinch bolts (not too tight!).

See if that solves it.

my bb is currently making a sand crackle type noise, could this be because my lbs spaced my bb 2.5mm (1 spacer) too much? please see my thread in tech

Did you have the BB shell faced prior to fitting?

i think steelo is right because it is a new bike and it is slowly getting more quite now but ill get the lbs to look at it tommorow

I agree, Hollowtechs and XTRs do sometimes rub on the BB paint.

If you stand up and pedal hard, OR whilst standing at the side of your bike ,try standing with all of your weight over one foot ( on the pedal ) and press down with a rocking motion(i promise this won't lead to something sexual): it creaks loads, then your bottom bracket needs looking at. Either greasing like the other dude says, or replacing, but bear in mind there may be a specific torque for this when refitting.

get it to a bike shop as you have no idea.

Also as you have not had the bike more than a few days dont touch it it is back to the shop time.

Is this normal?
