bb spacing and query

i have some hones on my msisle, i've had them for about 9 months and were fitted by my LBS. All of a sudden they have began to creak, im guessing this is the BB, there is no lateral movement yet but should it need replacing? - what is the usual lifespan of the hollowtech 2 BB?
also i think i have a 73mm bb shell however there are 2 spacers on the nondrive side. from the wear on the crank interface splines it looks like i could take ones of the spacers off.

When being fitted i did asked for them to face the bb shell - weather they did or not, i don't know. The cups seem tight, they don't move/unscrew by hand. how would i know if the preload needs adjusting - shall i tack it up slightly less?
i've just read through park tools and it says there should only be one 2.5mm spacer on the non dirve side with a 73mm bb, - i don't have the bb, shall i take it back to the bike shop and get them to sort it.
edit:after looking at the bb shell, it does appear to be faced.
Edit 2: What do you think about the wear on the splines, you can clearly see where they havn't met the axel interface. http://s143.photobucket.com/albums/r124 ... 000001.jpg

doesn't look like they were fitted correctly, were they definately on all the way? Looks like the drive side wasn't pushed all the way through when the non-drive side was fitted, but that would have slid and creaked all over the place.

due to there being an extra spacer on the bb. i have a 73mm BB and the shop put 2 spacers, i read parktools and it said fit only 1 spacer with a 73mm bb shell. this would have caused the drive side not to be pushed all the way through, i think.

is your BB shell 68mm or 73mm across?

I would be mighty upset with the person who fitted that. As theres only supposed to be one spacer for a 73mm bb.

i think we (me and ride 4 lyf) should go back to PCS, show them the instructions and demand for them to sort it out.
