To be fair, the muslims seem to take offence to everything, and then blow things stupidly out of propotion. Like this guy getting knighted. do you see us protesting on the streets and burning flags etc when something small like that happens in another country?

Still confused.... 'their tastes' no one likes to see those sorta things, it probably isn't too many peoples 'taste', but it REAL and the TRUTH of what is going on at war.

I understand the young thing, completly. But older peole.....

The truth of war is that people die horribly and often for no real reason. That is the only truth of war.

Pictures aren't needed to tell that truth and often pictures in war can tell the most heinous lies.

Those pictures were used wholly to shock. There's no truth there.

I disagree, I think that those pics showed the human side of war. It reminds people (well, me at least) of the cruel and brutal side of war, despite the American's use of "precision weapons".

Ignoring the fact that no picture bandied about by either side is anywhere near reliable, is the notion that it might contain some truth about what is happening good reason to show people the pictures? Should everyone be shown every 'truth' of every war? Or just the impressionable people shown the side that supports your view?
If I decided that I'd rather like to highlight the evils of, say, animal testing, would you be fine with my showing you a collection of pictures of animals being torn to bits, having things poked in them and generally being tortured? Sure, it might not be to your tastes, but it's something I'd really rather like you to accept as a truth, and I really can't see how you'd want to not see things that disgust you when they're so enlightening. Especially on a forum frequented by your 13 year old son.

In general, if someone wants to find it, they will. I don't think you can say there is anything approaching a shortage of propaganda to fuel the anti-war movement, and much of that doesn't involve seeing severed limbs.
