i'm going to get rid of the azonic- that much has been decided. but i will need a replacement.

i'm looking at the 06 cowan from evans for 800 quid. any other suggestions?

For a grand you could get a PHD. Its the next one in the range from mine, looks individual to say the least and has œ400 off. Does have Avid BB5s though.

I believe its because its designed purely for dirtjumping (hence the really bent top tube) so stopping power isn't needed. Also, in a crash less likely to do too much damage.

No idea. Mine is the next down in the range but has a completely different frame design. Mine rides really well. I believe the Avid BB5s are meant to be very good, for mech discs.
