Tektro Auriga's are powerfull but lack any control. Not knowing to much about stuff, mine have also been leaking fluid from the leaver, could be a piston seal or some thing? But can not find replacements only full sets. Nor pads. Opted for Xt's instead. As far as I know, Tektros make good brakes, just not good disc brakes.0

Avid Juicy 3's are the standard disc brakes fitted on my 'hopper disc. They work perfick! So much so that when I stopped in front of a fallen tree branch this afternoon I nearly sent myself over the handlebars!
I'm not sure that œ50 would cover them, I think they are about œ120-130 for a set?Specialized Rockhopper '07

Most hydraulics will do that, even the cheap ones. The more expensive the brake the more modulation it will have.

Not necessarily. I found my Juicy 5's to have more modulation than that of a friend's Hope M6.

XT's are of a Different league to Avid Juicy 3/5, Lots more Modulation. IIRC, the imperials are quite good, but to put it simply, You wont get a better brake than the XT's for that money...
