take it back if it is new.
how do the levers feel?
is it just damp with the fluid or is it pouring out?

cheers nick for your help!I've managed to resolve the problem as it seems the small plastic bleeding cap had fallen out of the resivoir on the lever and was allowing the fluid to drain out.the lbs said it seems to be a common problem as it does'nt screw in so can just be knocked out or vibrate loose.any way they said they'd replace the part and bleed the brakes for œ10 problem solved [:D]

whs are not the best shop in the world. have heard a few bad story's. hayes are not the easiest to bleed, you were better off taking them back. your best of getting your brakes bled with someone who knows what they are doing-and those ruber things in the resivior really aren't the best design.

yeah wwjjtt got my lbs to bleed them and replace the part as it would of cost as much to send them back and took longer through wooly hat to be honest though never had a problem with wooly hat i have used them alot.but your wright bad design you would of thought they might of used a screw or something.
