I was asked by another mountain biker the other day "What is your Holy Grail in mountain biking ?"
It can be anything bike related (bike, place, trick etc).
I'm still thinking about mine (complete 1991 Yeti range at the mo [}:)] [:I] ).
So whats yours ???

Mines just my bike. It was the first 'propper' bike that I've had.
Or it could be the Transition Double because that is such an awsome bike.

Ah. Well my bike was my first proper mountain bike, came from an Apollo full sus to that. Would like to build up a freeride full sus like a Mythic Wildcard.
In riding I would like to be able to trick stuff and ride with more style.

Get rid of your shi<s></s>t sig, Jackass.
My holy grail is a solo 24 hour marathon, middle of scotland in January. Hardcore.

For years it was a GT lobo with Pace RC150 forks blasting down a fast smooth flowing down hill on sunny day with a slight cooling breeze with my friends.
Nowadays I have realized I have to be able to get up the hill. So for me these days it would be to have my own helly lift. Or a bike that can go up hills as well as down.0 -
Has to be Whistler for me. Never been there, but theres nowhere else I'd rather go in the world.

I quite fancy doing the Trans-Scotland.[:)]
Wouldn't be in the too near future and I'd need to raise funds, find team members, get fitter...etc. etc.

Bombing a 10k singletrack, through woods, open plains and rock gardens on a VP Free then being heli lifted back up the mountain to do it again. Or spending three years in Whistler as a member of the Norco Factory Team. Both equally as good as each other.

To me one of those rides where the bike seems to glide, you get covered in mud and dirt.
Oh and an Endorfin Frame, gotta break the Klein one first though!0 -
Learning to flow the park better.
Start hitting big stuff when I get a bouncy bike.
Go race.

Getting the Brooklyn was one of mine, but when it's all been stripped, sprayed etc after France that will be a good moment.
The bike park in France last season was quite a high point, but generally travelling on the bike with hot weather, friends, and the one moment in one holiday/season where you're not hurting, the bikes not broken, and you're riding like a crazyman.

Holy Grail has to be a trail. For me it would be the most perfect decending singletrack, cutting through various bits of amazing scenery that seem to continue endlessly. However the Holy Grail of singletrack is something you could spend your life looking for but never find it.
