The only reason i'm up this late is cause im frantically looking for places to ride both on holiday in the UK and locally. Unbeknown to me theres a riding spot with northshore and jumps at a place called Drum Hill in Derby. There is one video of it on Youtube but i can't for the life of me find out where the damn place is [:D] Does anyone know it or ride there that could give me a bit of an idea how to get there, say from the City Centre...

That's a shame...Drum Hill used to be my local spot a few years ago when I was at uni in Derby! The north shore stuff only started to spring up in the last few years, before that it was mainly just short dh runs through the woods with a few jumps/drops. That place was always so friggin damp...even after a hot summer some parts never dried out fully haha! Had some fun times there...
Yeah you're right...we struggled to find anything else in close proximity to Derby when I lived there. There was supposed to be some good trails at Ambergate with a couple of big jumps/drops but I heard that they had been destroyed too. We sometimes rode at a place called 'Black Rock' on the edge of the peak district near Cromford - not sure mountain bikers were allowed on the trails but we never got told to leave/caught by a ranger...so we kept going (went when it was quiet though). My buddy used to ride some dh trails on the edge of Nottingham too...they were quite close to Derby but not sure exactly where they are.
There are a few other short dh trails in the hills surrounding Drum Hill...nothing amazing but maybe worth a look. Just spend a day scouting out the hills/woods around that area & you may find other stuff...
R.I.P. Drum Hill
