Cheap ones aren't rubbish. Certainly better than your current forks. They may not have any damping but what they do have is predictability. You can be sure of how a rigid fork will react on the trail. Compare that to the pogo stick qualities of your Zoom forks and you will find yourself in a lot more control.

[tongue in cheeck]Welcome to the MBUK forum, where you'll only get respect if you've got an '07 model bike that's worth more than 6 month's wages![/tongue in cheeck]

my zoom forks are more like ball joints they move sidways further than they move up and down. I think they need replacing or should i just get a new bike.

Hard choice as i love my current bike

  • the reason decent suspension forks cost alot of money, is because of damping and other sytems to create a stable predictable ride, whilst bouncing up and down.

I have an idea, rag the shit out of your crap bike, abuse it learn how bikes work read mags become ofay with MTB'ing then buy a decent bike. Problem solved saves you asking daft questions a monkey could answer btw 2 stoke oil is runny, there is a hole its physics flush it out and put grease, not oil grease on
