i am thinking about getting a kona firemountain (with mechanical discs) or a cinder cone (hydrolic) do mechanical discs need a lot of ajucting?

Small adjustment and mechanical will be as good as hydraulic(assuming that's what you meant)

What are you on about? Hydraulic disc brakes are way better than mechanical. If you have the money now, get them.

No way are mechanicals as good as hydros. The smoothness, feel and modulation are completely different. And hydros are more reliable.

Mechanical could never be as good as hydro. Remember Mechanicals still use cables, cables can snap and slip and frey. You could never apply the same amount of pressure to a mech brake as you could to a hyro brake.___________________________________________________________
