    Air freshner?, hairspray more like...
    Electrical Tape round the bars
New Grips: ODI Lock ons or DMR zip grips 20quid and 8 quid respectively.

    throttle grip huh?

I'm sure if you search there's probably a topic on this already.

I used spray deodorant and it seems to have worked

don't use wd40, gt85, hairspray, or anything. they workfor about five mins!! get lock on's they are like 15 quid and they never move. if you have to use old style just put them on slowly or they'll come off.

never grow up..... just find a bigger playground!

I prefer the Imperial version such as these.

The difference in bolt size makes the difference + there cheaper than Odi.

I wrapped electrical tape around my bars and then superglued the grips onto the taped areas... once.

Problem comes when you want to take them off...

i have always used lock-on grips since i first discovered them. no risk of movement at all, and super easy to get on/off

When we did Motocross, we used Petrol.
rinse the inside of the grips out with it and clean the bars with it, then whilst it's still wet with petrol, slide them on.
The Petrol evaporates leaving everything clean and secure.

worked for me and i never, ever had slippy grips, yet I could roll them off for replacement easily.

Use hairspray and no other spray on products. Trust me.

I use spraypaint then leave them over-night, then remove them with some WD40 and a long terminal screwdriver. Never had any slip but can be a pain to remove if you go OTT with the paint.

tomr you are almost there. i have and alway will use bmx grips and "clear lacquer" spray paint. bmx grips cause they are for 22.2mm bars and mtn bars are 25.4.
clear laquer cause you can't see the spay and it acts like a glue. i don't like lock ons as they are too fat and not long enough for my liking, they also leave you with no room for movement with your hands. i have sold gips on that purpose for years and have yet to have anyone come back coplainning of slip grip syndrom. (touch wood)
p.s. most of the guys at my work do the same aswell
