Big new forks?

I own a Kona Hoss, which I do a mix of XC, climbing and downhill on. I feel the standard forks (Dirt Jam Comp)are a bit feeble for the downhill stuff (long, steep, big rocks and I'm 15 stone)and so I'm thinking of fitting some longer travel triple braced shocks. Any recommendations or warnings ??

I would tend to stay away from stipple clamps unless you are going out and out DH or really big drops.0

For XC and climbing, you won't be appreciating the extra strength/travel in DC forks, and neither will your frame. Stick with single crowns, around 100mm travel (as that is what you have at the moment). Marzocchi Dirt Jumpers, Rock Shox Argyles, or if you want lots of adjustability, Rock Shox Pikes, although these aren't as strong as the previously mentioned forks.

A set of Pikes with U-turn would be perfect. It means getting a new hub but I presume you knew that considering you were looking at DH tripple clamps.

Yep Pikes are a good choice. Marzocchi also do a decent All Mountain range for 07 which will be up for climbing and the descents.

shame that the Hoss does not really like forks longer than 100mm. 120nn max.
