What front mech fits an 06 Enduro frame?

An easy one for anyone who's fitted & kitted an enduro.

I have shimano Deore trigger shifters (yeah I know, but I'm on a tight budget & would rather spend the money on good forks & brakes), so a Deore front mech for a 34.9mm post & avoiding E-type as they look a bit too flimsy.

Anyone with a good knowledge of Specialized & Shimano?

what actually is your question? the cable routing should give a clue for the pull.

Yeah, clear title, but probably not the clearest question!

What Deore/Hone front mech fits the 06 Enduro?

I've tried a year old dual pull Deore I had lying around (no part no. on it), but the cam will push the cable line into the frame as it shifts up!?

    Down pull, top swing. 34.9.

iirc, the enduro is bottom pull.

Thanks, but that still doesn't answer the question. All the models above 'should' fit, but I guarantee that they don't all fit & work. Just need somone who's either got an Enduro or who has fitted one to an Enduro.

I just want to know for certain what actually fits, so I don't buy a mech that has the same clash problem as the mech I have!

I know you get a lot of muppets questions on here, but I'd worked out that it was bottom pull & 34.9 from looking at it & reading the manual.

All the above front mechs are listed as dual pull, so I assume they can handle top & bottom routing. If the cam is too big on them (as with the front mech I currently have 06 Deore - no part number to identify it unfortunately) it will push the cable line into the frame when it shifts up, so don't want to order another like it!

So don't get another multi-pull mech. Get a bottom pull one.

Thanks Nick, I'd found that, but didn't want to fit an E-type mech. I know you can fit standard mechs to them as I've seen a couple, but as Shimano don't put part numbers on their mechs it's impossible to find out what they are!

Big Red, that's great, but bottom pull mechs are going to have a cam as well & without going into a shop with the frame & taking them all out the boxes to check clearances, I thought I'd be able to short cut that by asking on here.

Thanks for your help guys, but will go & ask the mechanic at the local Specialized dealer when I get a moment & buy it from them.
