im getting either shimano deore LX hydro discs or shimano XT hydro discs i don't know which to get as im not sure how much better the XT is. does it justify an axtre œ20-œ30 over the LXs? im fairly sure powers not a problem as both me and my bike are both quite light and i won't do much, if any, downhill. i wish i could but i live in east anglia, there are no hills! any way i'd be grateful if you could advise.

If your not going to be going downhill much then it might be better getting the LX as they are both very smooth and have a good lever feel. You might get a bit more power with the XTs but if your not going downhill then you wont need it.0

The Saints I own at the moment are possibly the best brake Iv ever used. Id go for the Lx's if you arent going to be doing much DH.

Why not?
Go for the LX, unless you're doing it for the name. Like me. [V]

Why shimano? 'Cos you get a pair of world cup performance brakes for less than the price of one hope mini.0

Shimano XT are some of the best out there. One piece calipers are a ligher than the LX ones. I don't think there is much difference otherwise.

The LXs are downgraded to meet the price bracket. Better off with XTs. From wiggle. As a pair. Top bananna!

Get the XT's...
My dad has got some LX's and the XT's are definatly better.
I've used Saints (same caliper - just larger rotor) for about 2yrs and can't fault them.

Well I would get the XT's if you could afford it. But the main difference between them is just weight, so if you are not really bothered abouot weigh then get the LX's.
