Hey guys. Just been getting Majorly confused about the ps3 set up with my projector. This is the projector i have: http://www.lcdprojectoronline.com/h50.html
And this is the amp i have: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page ... ct_ID/1930 (click the thumbnail further down that page to see the back of it)
So, question 1
I was simply wondering whether the HDMI cable that i receive with the ps3 will be sufficient or whether i need one of these?: http://www.pixmania.co.uk/game-monster- ... jvart.html due to the layout at the back of my amp because i dont beleive it has an HDMI input (does it?).
And also, the cables that i got with the projector are listed on the page of that first link, will these provide me with a good quality image when conected to the amp?
Cheers,
Andy

Nah you're amp doesn't have HDMI. Not the end of the world though, it's really not the be all and end all as some would have you believe! Don't bother with Monster cables, they're incredibly average for the price you pay. Something like this is fine, trust me! Connect the 3 left connections (red, green, blue) to the component inputs on your amp. As for the audio, one of these, not sure what kinda length you're looking for, but there's quite a few. That connects to bottom left panel (optical audio).

One of these (again depending on length) would go from the component output on your amp to your DVI input on the projector.

    Hope this helps!

I've just had a Google and it's a there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer that I can find. Basically I'm sure that the PS3 outputs HDMI at 1080p, but as for component I am not totally sure. I'm 99% sure you'll get 1080i (your projector doesn't support 1080p anyway) over component- it wouldn't make sense for Sony. The only problem you're likely to get is if you start playing HDCP enabled stuff. Think it'll force it down to 720p then. I'd check your manual...

yeah and i'm pretty sure 720p and 1080i are pretty good quality anyway or at least perfectly sufficient. My dad has just been going on about how i wont be able to get a HD quality picture through it because of the capacity of the projector (or some rubbish like that) to be honest though i think he's making it up just so that i dont waste my money on it. Because that is the projector i have on that website i posted a link too and it says it supports 720p and 1080i so it should be fine + i dont think that the amp makes any difference it just keeps streaming an HD signal(or so i understand). I'll look into those cables though and ask at my local Tech-shop. Cheers for your help

I thought HDCP only applied to computer equipment?
