i have truvativ isoflows. i cant save up because i have buckled my current ones dues to the bolt coming loose so the splines sheared.

So LX is the way to go then?

peice of p*ss to fit, although you'll need your bb shell facing first. the external bearings are just very good. the hollowtech 2 is just a supieror system to use. you really won't be disapointed.

BB shell facing? so they wont just go straight onto my BB? i figured there would be differences somewhere along the line. i think my BB is truvativ aswell but not sure of anything else?

basically the paint on the outside of you frame where the bb sits needs scraping off to ensure a totally flat surface for the bearings to sit, to enable the longest bearing life possible.

I was hoping to not have to change my BB, just the cranks. will these fit straight on do you think? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110140433554&rd=1&rd=1

and i'd like to add, that the shimano hollowtech system is particularly sensitive to a bad bb shell. i knackered a saint bb after a week, despite the bike coming with an external bearing bb. So yeah. get it done!

Something round here tastes bad. Could be plain old bad taste.

Hopper of Rocks. with the LX's you dont need your BB. You get the BB with the cranks its all in 1 package.

i recently got the LX hollowtech I that you are looking at, œ35 from CRC and œ20 for the BB . yes they use the octalink BB , but for some reason the axle length needs to be 121mm for the correct chainline on most frames. My LBS confirmed this.
The hollowtech II has a different BB that comes with the cranks.

I'd agree with the above, go for the LX octalink from CRC. I have one (though using a 118 bb on my Zaskar). Its light, and the bearings last longer in the BB. Also no need to face frame. Very good deal.

You'd be wanting the LX Hollowtech II. You get the BB. You should have your BB shell faced for the BB to last.
