I'm looking to spend around œ400 on a new hardtail. Looked at Specialized Hardrock, Gary Fisher Marlin. Any recommendations?

Hardrock with discs should do you fine for whatever riding you do.

Hardrock disc, no competiton. Unless you can find a discounted 06 bike.

the hardrock with discs for œ400 is corr blimeye. It has a crap fork and crap gears.
Look at the gt av2 it has a more balanced spec or look around at other brands, most companies will have a similar spec bike for the same price.

yes i agree^ the forks are utter crap, save up and get the hardrock prom, its much better!
