was remote controlling my pc and other things started happening like windows closing and even the window to change my vnc password kept closing. I think someone's hacked it!

Managed to hit shutdown real quick but it's p¡ssed me right off now though [:(!][B)]

I'm surprised, VPN is pretty secure, and I can't really imagine anyone could be bothered to crack it. They usually go for easy targets. Were you doing it with software or through your router?

If you have a dynamic ip, change it. may give you a while to sort things out.

Are you sure nobody else was using the pc? I've been busy playing on a different pc in the past when someone has sat down and started fiddling with things.

it's dynamic but never changes. no-one's at home at the mo. I'll just have to get them to switch it on again later

Can you not set up your router/firewall to only accept incoming connections on XXXX port from your ip?

runn it through a SSH tunnel, to at least give it some sort of security??

Or as RSU said tie it to your IP. Run VNC server on an obscure port too helps 5900 is the default.
