Any thoughts on the following bikes, trying to narrow it down at the mo.
It will mainly be used for roads and gentle tracks and maybe the occasional trail.
Orange Crush
Kona Caldera
GT Avalanche Expert
Spesh Rockhopper
Do any of them have lock-out forks.
Thanks in advance

Using Google I found out in 2 minutes that the GT does have a lockout & some of the Spesh's do, it wasn't rocket science.
Out of the bikes you listed I'd either have the GT or Spesh, the Kona's overpriced for the spec level it has & the Orange (much as I love them) is overkill for your needs.

orange Crush - overkill
Kona Caldera - nice bike but kona's tend to be a bit heavy..
GT Avalanche Expert - nice bike and suits your needs well
Spesh Rockhopper - nice bike too
i used to have a sig [;)]i used to have a sig [;)]0 -
Also check out the Giant XTC range, which fits nicely into what your looking for. [:D]

Roads and Gentle tracks? All of those look a bit overkill for such light usage.

i too looked at the kona, gt and spesh when buying my bike recently. i agree that the kona felt heavy, and i found on the gt i was very stretched over and i'm 6'3". i thought the rockerhopper comp disc was a lovely looking bike, felt good to ride and had good spec. dont know about the orange though.0

Think i have narrowed it down to the rockhopper disc 07 and the GT avalanche expert, i like the lock-out on the GT.
I might only be doing light riding at the mo, but you never know (was into bmx's a few years ago.) and want something a bit flexible.0
