Long cage to short cage = shorter chain?

I've changed from a long cage X0 to a short cage, and while it rides and shifts fine around the yard, I'm concerned that the chain may be too long now. Should I shorten it, and if so, how do I tell by how much?

you measure the chain the same way. if you have not changed the cogs then the chain length will be the same. all you have done is reduce the range of teeth you can cover.
