Ok im gonna try and say this without sounding like a big girl. Im going off to uni soon and my girlfriend and i are going to try and stay together but she will be in her last year of school as she is a year younger than me. Anyway, we decided to get each other gifts that would remind us of each other whilst we're away. Im gonna just go for the classic tiffanys bracelet but shes too indecisive to think of a gift for me so she wants me to choose one for myself. I want something that wont break and that i'll be able to have on me all the time. Jewellery or a watch is pretty much all i can think of but i dont wear a watch so thats out of the question. Suggest away.

And someone in the last year of school (Yr11) could quite easily be 17.

I knew many people who were 17 in Yr11 so you can't argue that.

All depends when you're birthday is and when you're schools threasholds are, say you were born 1989 after September this would mean you're parents would be able to put you in straight away or hold you back a year should you be out in in the next year you are essentially a year older than the rest but really its only a matter of months.

Yes, that's how I was allowed to leave school at 15! I was the youngest person in the year.

Tom i was talking about wearing a bernard mathews! ring all the time. And forgetting i had a girlfriend was obviously a far too sophisticated joke about her being replaced by the bernard mathews! ring. Oh and she's 17. As am i at this moment in time, my birthday is this coming tuesday.

engraved dog tags. bit crap that you have to choose it yourself, but then she can think of a nice message to go on it herself
