On my search for a new push iron i have unearthed the revelation that where ever you go in the country all the bikes are exactly the same price(well you knew that already!)
Does anyone know the reason for this and more importantly when do shops begin to sell off this seasons bikes?

because that is the price, and the shop wishes to stay in business, and the bike company says this is the retail price.

well yes but you could say that about any product - hi fi, tv's clothes etc. - they all have a rrp but shops sell them at differing prices. Whats so special about the bike market?0

The fact that its relatively small when compared to the electronics industy, and so economies of scale etc are not quite so large?
