What steering wheel do you all use for your driving games? Is vibration/force feedback important to you? Pros and cons for using a wheel.

Cheers guys.

I don't use them (haven't recently) but you know force feedback is going to be a hell of a lot more fun! F! games with the pedals and wheel (padle gears too) are mint! I can't think of Cons as if you don't like it just go back to keboard.

I went for a Logitech Formula EX. Should make Colin Mcrae's DiRT better, as well as the other driving/racing games.

  • Con's, finding somewhere to secure the wheel and have a comfortable place to have the pedals is hard.

I want one of those racing chairs soooo bad, but they are far too expensive.

I'm using a logitech G25, and trust me. After you've used force feedback for any length of time. you won't be able to drive without.

The amount of feeling you get through the wheel, you can tell where theres grip, if you lock a wheel, when the back steps out. it truely is amazing.

    Get force feedback.

The racing seats are about œ450. rather a lot considering a cheap bucket seat from halfords and a mig welder could have the same results at a fraction of the cost [;)]

Or you could contact brd racing who can convert whole cars into driving simulators [:D]

I once had a PS2 steering wheel with Force Feedback, absolutely amazing on gran turismo 3 & 4, although colin mcrae rally just made it completely spaz out (although thats good I suppose)

much better than vibration or no feedback though, definitely worth the investment if the PC games can support it properly.

If you get a Logitech wheel for your PS2, it will work on your PC as well. Logitech even have drivers for them on their website! There's still a big warning in the manual though, saying that if you plug it into a PC, the world will end, all your future grandchildren will catch rabies and so on.

I just love the clutch pedal. and 6 speed gated/sequential shifter [:p]

The leather wrapped wheel is a nice touch too
