Taking fill face

Hi guys - off to the alps next wednesday and wondered the best way of taking the full face helmet, can you just carry it on as hand luggage? or does it have to go in the hold (think it might get smashed)

Carry it onto the aircraft as hand luggage. You're permitted to carry a laptop bag in addition to hand luggage, so you'll be fine with your full face.
Do not allow it to be treated as hold luggage.
