What kind of riding are you wanting to do?

I'd go either Spesh or Kona if I were you, I have always ridden Kona and probably wouldn't change. Never liked the GTs.
Try some out at your LBS and see how they feel, but they are all pretty good bikes you've picked out. It will all depend on what type of riding you do as well?....DaZeD aNd CoNfUsEd....0 -
Giant XTC 4.5 or a Doss 6600 for that much cash0

Mainly cross country riding up lakes n stuff really0

im thinkin the specialized rockhopper or the kona blast, which bike would be best for my type of riding?0
-
The Kona is poor value on specs (fork, gears...) compared to the Rockhopper.

between the Blast or the Rockhopper, the Spesh is clearly the better, But the Cinder Cone would be worth a look.....DaZeD aNd CoNfUsEd....0

what about the cinder cone?0
-
A mate of mine has the Cinder Cone... The brakes are only single pot hydraulics (Hayes Sole) and the forks are just springs (MZ Comp III I think).

Again the Cinder Cone has a lower spec (forks/brakes) than the Rockhopper

oh another question,im just under 6 foot so what do you think would be the best frame size for me?0
-
A test ride is the best way to get the right size, but as a guesstimate I'd say 18"

im reckoning the rockhopper then,on evans cycles the 06 and 07 models are same price,is the 07 better?0
-
The '07 has a much better fork than the '06 & you might not find an '06 in your size.

okie dokie thanks mate youve bin a great help, have you had a rockhopper?0
-
Nope, but a mate has one, nice bit of kit!
Have a test ride on it, if the shop says no, threaten to go somewhere else, Spesh dealers are easy to find all over the country!

only thing is the brakes on the o6 model rockhopper look a lot better,do the better forks make up for this?0
-
There isn't much difference between the brakes, but the fork more than makes up for it (in my opinion)
