Anyone know their mushrooms?

As I seem to have just found a haul of Lberty Caps, yet it seems to early in the year for them. Could the funny weather be responsible?

that's generally been the standard, butwe've had very strange weather of recent, very hot then wet then hot then wet round here, so the ground is right, and they do look right.

I'll grab some mates to come have a look when I get the chance (not really going to post pics on the net :-) )

can't buy them any more. Illegal like innit. Prepared or not.

And if you're too scared to pick fresh ones, why would you trust some street dealer any more?

fairy muff. We used to have a shop in town that sold them if you knew to ask, but since the law change, they've obviously stopped.

i would be very wary , it's far too early . pix ?

look for blueish mould round the bases, a pronounced nipple yellowish in colour, and a non slimy texture.
I know from experiences of picking that there are a couple of species that grow right along side liberty caps that are almost identical.
And they are not good to munch on.[:(]

yeah, it would seem waryness is the right option, as they appear to be identical, slime free, but nipple-less.
no nipples is never good
