Specialised Bighit comp '04

I have a friend selling a Bighit comp that i am interested in - i think its an '04 - its silver - looks like this one http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Freeride_Fu ... 3213.shtml

I think all the parts are stock - although it has some black triple clamp marzocchis rather than the djIII's - they just say bomber on the legs in chrome 3d stuck on lettering so i dont know which model they are?

Had a ride and a look and condition seems pretty good - just a few small scratches - little bit of residue on the rear shock piston - think this is normal?

Hes asking for œ650 - is that about right?

Is there anything specific i should check it for? Any opinions on the bike - seems good from the review on the link above - certainly nicer than my current dh bike!

I used to ride a Comp. The suspension doesn't work properly, you don't get as much travel as a proper Bighit, and you have the stupid 24" rear wheel. For œ650 you could get yourself a newer Bighit off eBay.

Thanks for the feedback, how do you mean that the rear suspension doesn't work properly? Is there a problem with having the 24" rear wheel or is that just personal preference?

Anyone else got an opinion?

No, its the same suspension design as the Full model, but with a plastic linkage instead of a proper metal one. Travel is reduced from 7"-8" to 5"-6". It just never worked right.
