Riding in the brecons area

I'm working near Merthyr Tydfil next month, for two evenings. Since we're only working in the evenings, I thought I'd head out on my bike during the day. But I've never ridden near the area before.
I'm basically looking for fairly light duty stuff, as I don't want to knacker myself, and then work until midnight, or one in the morning or whatever.
So are there any trails ssomeone could reccomend in the brecon area? within about 20-odd miles of Merthyr would be preferable.
Thanks.

There is a trail called the Taff Trail....
It runs through Merthyr towards Breacon (almost follows the route of the A470 going North on the West side of the valley), going past a couple of reseviours (SP?) and a trail centre. It's mostly good fire-roads, no extreme stuff.

Thread Jack!
Does anyone know if the "laminated ride guides" that are available on the mtb brecons website are any good? I was flicking through an old WMB and saw a feature there. The trails look fantastic. The Black route certainly looks like my cuppa tea!

El cap, that kind of thing will be fine, thanks. Otherwise I'll just end up in a B&B reading magazines or messing with my laptop, or nosing around shops all day.
