Are disk brakes meant to rub ever so slightly on your wheels even when u are not squeezing lever-my front brake disk does this yet my back doesn't-any info?

some do some dont.
just about all do untill the pads are bedded in.
during use a piston can get sticky meaning the piston on the other side pushes further and then will not retract far enough causing pads to rub.
or the caliper could just be poorly aligned.

Mine does exactly the same, my front rubs slightly. I had the pads changed recently after i'd made a schoolboy error with some WD40, and now the pads are fresh and bedding in. I had an experienced MTB'er ride my bike this morning and he re-assured me that all is well and that all the components are still bedding in, including the chain and sprockets etc.Specialized Rockhopper '07

my pads aint new tho-it dont rub much-wheel still turns pretty freely u can just hear a slight rubbing noise coming of it when u spin it by hand.0

I guess then if you've had any major 'offs' you could have knocked the caliper slightly off line? Other than that i'd say I only get a slight rubbing when I spin the wheel too, the noise goes away when I apply slight pressure to the brake lever, but its nothing that really annoys me or impedes the bikes performance.Specialized Rockhopper '07
