This may sound really stupid but a major cause of headaches, along with dehydration, is eye-strain caused by constantly changing your focal-length, i.e. staring at the ground and then looking along the trail and back again at the ground etc. It causes the focusing muscles in your eyes to tire and therefore you get a headache.
This may not be what you do at all and if it isn't then i'm sorry you'll just have to try the old paracetamol tablets, or quiz a GP about it.
Good luck with a cure.Specialized Rockhopper '07

When its very sunny, I sometimes get headaches.
Are you getting hot? Sun straining your eyes?
Etc.

If its not to do with eye focus a good pair of sunglasses may well be a solution.
As a driver by profession I used to get regular headaches as a result of the glare until I wore sunglassed and the headaches stopped. Try a set and see if it helps.

I had a helmet dubbed the headache helmet because it pressed on the top of my head which resulted in a headache everytime I used it.
try using a different helmet for a day and see if it is better.

Yeah, you don't want fish and chips.
Carbohydrates much better.
Tescos pot of cold pasta would be much better.

you say you got your eyes tested "ages ago" - get them tested again. they can get worse you know. i have to get mine done every 6 months and my contact lense prescription is forever changing, so this may be the problem like a few people have said.0

Pasta is no good mid ride. Carbs are slow release energy.
Mid ride you want bananas or mars bars as a good trail snack.

When I know I'm gonna feel tired but I really must go for a ride, I eat as much spoons of sugar as I can and it really helps. If I don't start riding immediately, however, sugar will make me sleepy.
I know it sounds stupid but it works!
WD-40? GT-85?? I'd rather use the old AK-47!0
