Squeaky Brakes

I've got relatively new brake pads, but the whining of my pads is driving me nuts.
Whats the solution... Buy some more expensive pads? Ear muffs?
Thanks in advance

Or moist. Wet brakes can squeak and honk alot.

put some copper grease on the back plate where the plate comes into contact with the calliper. the squeal is the back plate vibrating on the calliper0

I had this happen with mine, squealed and whined annoyingly for a few days after fitting them. It does go eventually, just do some fast downhill runs with the brakes applied slightly so you take the surface off the pads. They just need to bed in!Specialized Rockhopper '07

before putting any grease or anti sieze near any brake pads read the makers info as some do not allow it as it can migrate through the pads and contaminate the pads.

did you align the caliper when you changed the pads last? thats if they aren't the original pads. undo the bolts that hold the caliper on and adjust it so the pads run paralell to the rotor. tighten and they should improve. if not it might be that you have cheap pads.

Wasn't there someone who suggested milkshake as a sure cure?
Seriously though, it may just be because they're new. Mine squeaked and squealed constantly when new.
Did they squeak with the old pads in?
I've heard that watering the pads and discs can help them bed in faster and it seemed to work for mine.
How long have you had them?0
