I wanted to have a bmx stem on my mtb,what size "clamp" thing do i need? and what street / park bars does anyone reccomend?

diameter of the handle bars compared to the size the stem will be able to take.0

well you are still not making much sence.
the steerer end will normally be 1 1/8th inch
the bar end could be 24.5mm or 22.2mm
quite a lot on BMX sized bars come with shims to allow use with a standard mtb stem. check before buying.

put it this way:
a bmx stem will likely be for a 1 1/8th inch steerer, and will normally be for 22.2mm diametre bars
bars such as the gusset prison bars are 22.2mm diametre, but come with shims to make them suitable for 25.4mm diametre stems

too heavy i think i am going to bin the bmx idea and get deity bars and stem.0
