Your the police dude right?

I am seriously considering joining the force after summer.
Just a few quick questions.

Does everyone start off the same or is it like the army where you can join at various ranks?
Are there varying levels of fitness needed for different positions. Such as armed response unit need to be fitter than traffic cops?
How many weeks training?
Is training paid?
Starting salary?

You all start off at the same rank. If your exceptional in the enrollment procedure then you can get into fast track promotion, and obviously get promoted quicker.

You have to be pretty fit to join, so its worth going to the gym beforehand.

I think its like 10 weeks at a special police training center.

Training is paid

Starting salary is around œ20,000. Depending on area.

I'm also considering joining - i ultimately want to become a traffic cop - how long before you are able to branch off into specific areas?
