rear cable disc brake

does anyone no where to get a decent, cheap cable disc brake with a rotor? ive tried ebay again... also, do v-brake levers work with cable discs?

V-brake levers will work.

budget?

i'd recommend saving and getting hydraulic rather than cable

for decent cable discs, its pretty much the same price to get some shimano saint hydro discs.

Look at Hayes, Shimano or Avid. They are the best cable discs.

Flurry's is a better idea though (your outdoing yourself lately).
Save a bit more and get a Hydro. Juicy 5 or if your on a tight budget Magura Julie.

i cant use vees bcoz im runnin 24s on a 26 bike and im planning to use an odyssey gyro so cant go hydraulic lol

i've been using shimano cable disks on my HR for a few years now, and if you have to have cable i'd recommend them

But other people manage perfectly fine without a gyro?
Im not disputing the fact that Gyros work well, just that its more hassle and probably more money.
Also, the braking power will be reduced due to breaks in the cable no?

Yes, greatly. Just use a slightly longer hose. Unless he plans to do double barspins and double tailswhips you can just rotate the bars back after the jump.

if you really want a gyro then go cable, personally i'd forget the gyro and just run a hydro with a long cable and turn it back after bar spins etc

If you absoloutley have to have cable then the Avids are a good choice.
Otherwise i would get a Hydro. You can pick up a fairly good pair for about œ140

I also believe that Merlin cycles may have some good deals on brakes.

yh, i suppose, but i dont really need hydro (ive seen many pros with vees) and a complete 1 1/8 gyro inc cables is œ15 on ebay, and a decent headset would be 15 anyway... ill consider hydro

Have a look at the Magura Julies on CRC.
I ran a Julie on the front of my Stuff (R.I.P) and it was fine for the price i paid.

Yes, but a Magura Julie Hydro isn't much more expensive and will easily outperform the BB7.
