Have you tried any LBS' with regards to wheel builds before? If so where would you recommend?

I havent used any of them that close to Birmingham, but all the ones this side of sutton and sutton etc are all really bad.

Swinnos are pretty good for wheels. The wheels I've had from them are still straight after 4+ years. My DH wheels were built by a BMXer at Leisure Lakes Daventry. I've also had Dangerous Dave build me some wheels.

Swinnies are indeed good. They've done a few wheels for me. However, are you willing to travel? We've got one in Newcastle-U-Lyme that's meant to be among the best there is. I hope what i've heard is true, i've just had some done by them.

Where is that anyway. Funnily enough depending on traffic it takes about the same time to get to Newcastle as it does to Cannock.

No problem. You might want to give them a call first to get a quote. The prices depend on how pimpy your build.

Hehe. Builds range from around œ20 for a normal build to œ35 for a super pimp build. Just depends what you want really. The quality of the work is great though (from seeing how well my mates have run/are still running)

Well im thinking of a build involving stans olympic rims with aerolite spokes and alloy nipples on a lefty front hub and an as yet undecided rear hub. I'm guessing those will be in the 35 pound bracket [:P]

The wheels at my lbs are built by a guy who used to build wheels for eric carter on the pro circuit. I'm affraid thats the Newcastle up north though...
